SCA KEY PROPERTIES

Snail secretions contain a multitude of elements that benefit the skin. While SCA is purified and processed in a patented fashion, much of the science is derived from the snail mucin itself. C. aspersa snail mucin in SCA is produced for protection and healing, unlike common garden snail mucin, which is for movement. The SCA ingredients include growth factors, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, which help repair damage to the skin and restore radiance.

Growth Factors

Growth factors are proteins your skin produces naturally that provide a wide variety of benefits. They help repair damage from the sun and other external aggressors, optimize cellular health and help reduce inflammation.

Everyone has growth factors. However, as we age, growth factors naturally diminish in the skin, which can lead to breakdown in cellular function and visible signs of aging in the skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Primarily, antioxidants work to prevent something called oxidative stress — the damage that free radicals cause. This damage, which results in the breakdown of skin’s collagen and elastin, can take the form of premature aging, inflammation and hyperpigmentation.
